We can certify High Heat Bug Kills for out of the country shipments. Temperatures around 140°F (60°C) are lethal for above-ground insects, including beetles, killing them within minutes to a few hours, but achieving this consistently requires careful heat penetration to the insect’s location, as temperatures in sheltered spots (like deep in wood or behind baseboards) can lag significantly behind the ambient air, and some insects have varying heat tolerances.
Wood Sterilization for items like lumber, maintaining an internal temperature of 140°F (56°C) for 45 minutes is recommended to kill hidden bugs and eggs.
At Lumberbylance we will do 150° for up to 8 hours at no additional cost. Planar milled wood sterilization, Kiln dried once it’s been Planar milled it will have to be acclimated to its final surroundings.
